Principal Candice Metcalf

Mrs. Candice Metcalf is an accomplished educator and administrator with a passion for fostering student success and creating a positive learning environment. She began her journey in the field of education in 2012 when she started her teaching career in Hillsborough County, Florida.

Mrs. Metcalf spent several years as a dedicated English and ESE teacher in Hillsborough County, Florida, where she honed her pedagogical skills and developed a strong rapport with students and colleagues alike. With a desire to expand her impact on education, Mrs. Metcalf transitioned into a leadership role as an assistant principal. She is currently the Principal at Hollins, where she leads with a vision of student growth, cultivates positive relationships within the educational community, and shapes the educational landscape of the school.

Mrs. Metcalf earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Central Florida. This degree laid the foundation for her commitment to education and her desire to make a difference in the lives of students.  She furthered her education by obtaining a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of West Florida. This advanced degree allowed her to deepen her understanding of educational theory and practice and provided an opportunity to broaden her reach.  With a strong belief in continued education, she pursued a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of West Florida, solidifying her expertise in education and leadership.

Assistant Principal Chiquita Godwin

Assistant Principal Nicole Holcombe

Mrs. Nicole Holcombe was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL and is a proud scholar of Pinellas County Schools, having attended Mt. Vernon Elementary School, Azalea Middle School, and Gibbs High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in English Education 6-12, at the University of South Florida, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. Mrs. Holcombe began her employment in Pinellas County Schools in 2001. She served as a substitute teacher (2001-2002), a classroom teacher at John Hopkins Middle School (2002-2016), an Assistant Principal Intern at Gibbs High School (2016-2018), and currently serves as an Assistant Principal and supervises the Science department at Hollins High School (2018 to present). Mrs. Holcombe is grateful to be a part of the Hollins Royal family and takes pride in being a servant leader for students and their families while creating a positive and productive learning environment! Gooooo ROYALS!

Assistant Principal Nathan Lovelette

Mr. Nathan Lovelette is proud to serve as an Assistant Principal at Hollins High School and is currently in his 26th year in Florida public education. In his role, he oversees the school’s magnet programs, including the Academy of Entertainment Arts, Academy of Culinary Arts, and Cambridge Academy, as well as the school’s athletic programs.

Throughout his career, Mr. Lovelette has served as a teacher, instructional staff developer, assistant principal, and principal in elementary, middle, high, and alternative schools across Flagler and Pinellas counties. These experiences have provided him with a unique perspective on education and reinforced his belief that strong relationships are at the heart of student success.

Mr. Lovelette is passionate about creating opportunities for students to discover their talents, pursue their goals, and develop a sense of belonging. His leadership is rooted in service, collaboration, and the belief that schools thrive when students, families, staff, and community members work together.

As a proud member of the Hollins High School family, Mr. Lovelette is committed to helping every Royal make the most of their high school experience and preparing them for success beyond graduation.

Assistant Principal Dr. Lindsay Rodgers

Dr. Lindsay Rodgers is proud to serve as Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Hollins High School.  Dr. Rodgers was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Following high school, she attended Penn State University for her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on Biomechanics.  After switching careers to education, she then pursued her Master’s Degree in Instructional Leadership and Doctorate Degree in Educational Management and Leadership at Robert Morris University. 

Dr. Rodgers entered the field of education as a math teacher in 2006 at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School in Midland, Pennsylvania.  While at Lincoln Park she was promoted to Title I Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and then Principal.  Durning her time in administration, Dr. Rodgers led in nearly doubling the Lincoln Park’s enrollment,  expanded the school to serve middle school grade levels in addition to the established high school grade levels, added different artistic programs and pathways for students to pursue, and fostered a partnership with the local community college to offer the most on-site dual enrollment classes for high school students over all other high schools in the county.   She relocated to St. Petersburg in 2022 to move closer to family and joined Pinellas County Schools as Assistant Principal over magnet programs at Northeast High School, prior to joining the Hollins High School family, this year.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Rodgers enjoys spending time with her family and sister’s family, appreciating the warm weather and variety of outdoor activities that Florida has to offer.    She is excited to be a member of the Hollins Royals this year and is dedicated to ensuring a positive school culture with engaging learning experiences for her students, while helping to prepare them for their post-secondary education or careers.
